Luminate Leadership is a Vancouver-based leadership development, executive coaching, and team acceleration practice serving organizations across Canada and the United States. We build leadership capacity that holds under pressure and translates into better decisions, stronger accountability, and more disciplined execution.
Our work connects three levels: individual leaders through coaching and 360° feedback, intact and project teams through team acceleration, and the organization as a whole through shared leadership language and practical operating rhythms. The goal is not development that appears once and disappears. It is leadership capability the organization keeps after we leave.
Leadership is the only strategy that scales means strategy, systems, and tools only move as fast as the people leading them. Every plan is carried through daily decisions, conversations, and moments of accountability.
When leadership capacity grows, execution, culture, and performance can grow with it. That is why Luminate treats leadership development as core strategy, not a soft cost.
Three things make Luminate different: our interview-based Narrative 360°, our experiential design, and our integrated work across individuals, teams, and the organization.
First, our Narrative 360° is interview-based. We personally interview people around a leader to surface the stories and context behind perceptions, not just scores. Second, our programs are experiential. Participants encounter a real challenge before we introduce the tool, so learning is grounded in the work. Third, we connect development across individuals, teams, and the organization instead of treating each layer separately.
Luminate is based in Vancouver, British Columbia, with an active presence in Edmonton and Calgary. We provide executive coaching, leadership development, and team acceleration across Canada and the United States, including Alaska.
Engagements can be delivered in person, virtually, or in blended formats. We regularly travel to client sites, including remote and northern locations.
Executive coaching is a confidential one-on-one partnership that helps a leader strengthen how they think, decide, communicate, and carry responsibility. It is not therapy, consulting, or advice-giving.
A skilled executive coach uses questions, feedback, reflection, and deliberate practice to help a leader see their impact clearly and change what they do, not just what they know.
Most Luminate executive coaching engagements last six to twelve months, with sessions every two to four weeks. The length is deliberate.
Insight can happen in one session, but lasting leadership habits form through repetition in real conditions. Six months is typically the minimum for change that can be practised, tested, and sustained. Shorter engagements are available for focused transitions or specific leadership challenges.
The cost of executive coaching at Luminate depends on the leader’s seniority, the length and frequency of the engagement, and whether assessments such as the Narrative 360° are included.
We scope each engagement individually and provide the full investment in writing before the work begins, with no hidden fees. Contact us to discuss your situation and receive a clear recommendation.
Yes. Executive coaching is confidential, subject to the boundaries agreed in the coaching contract and any legal or safety obligations.
When an organization sponsors coaching, we establish clear boundaries at the beginning. The sponsor may receive themes and progress against agreed development goals, but not the content of coaching sessions. This approach aligns with the International Coaching Federation Code of Ethics and protects the trust required for honest work.
Luminate coaching engagements are led by coaches credentialed by the International Coaching Federation, commonly known as ICF.
ICF credentialing requires formal coach training, documented coaching experience, ongoing professional development, and accountability to a professional Code of Ethics. When an organization trusts us with its leaders, that work deserves a qualified professional behind it.
A Narrative 360° is an interview-based leadership feedback process. Instead of sending a rating survey, we personally interview people who work closely with the leader and synthesize their insights into a confidential narrative.
Survey-based 360° assessments produce ratings and comparative data. A Narrative 360° produces stories, context, and the reasons behind how a leader is experienced. It helps the leader understand not only what people perceive, but why those perceptions exist and what to do next.
The leader proposes their feedback providers in consultation with their manager, so the group is both fair and complete. Providers typically include the leader’s manager, peers, direct reports, and sometimes key internal or external partners.
The final group should represent the relationships where the leader’s impact is most visible. Involving the leader in the selection process also helps build trust in the feedback.
Narrative 360° feedback is confidential and non-attributed in the leader’s report. The coach knows who participated, but individual comments are woven into themes rather than attached to names.
Every feedback provider is told how confidentiality works before the interview. That clear boundary helps people speak honestly while protecting the relationships involved.
Yes. In addition to the Narrative 360°, Luminate offers the Leadership Circle Profile, delivered by a coach certified in the instrument.
The Leadership Circle Profile is a validated 360° assessment that measures Creative Competencies and Reactive Tendencies and compares results with a global leadership database. It is useful when a leader or team wants research-backed measurement and comparative data.
The two approaches answer different questions. The Narrative 360° goes deeper into story and context. The Leadership Circle Profile provides structured measurement and comparison. We help you choose the approach that best fits the leader, the team, and the decision the feedback needs to inform. Every Luminate 360° is paired with coaching.
No. Every Luminate 360° assessment is paired with coaching.
Feedback without support is information, and sometimes it becomes a burden. Coaching gives the leader a confidential partner to interpret the feedback, decide what matters, and turn insight into deliberate practice. That pairing is what moves feedback from awareness to change.
Every Luminate leadership development program is custom-designed around the organization’s goals, audience, and real business challenges. Most programs follow a proven arc: self-awareness and leadership identity, leading others, feedback and accountability, coaching skills, change leadership, and sustaining culture.
Modules combine live experiential learning, validated assessments, peer practice, coaching, and application between sessions. Programs can be designed for frontline supervisors, new managers, senior leaders, or executives.
Experiential leadership development means participants encounter a challenge before the framework or tool is introduced. Adults rarely change how they lead by hearing a model explained.
They change by working through something real, reflecting on what happened, and then using practical language and frameworks to make sense of it. Luminate designs learning in that order so leaders can apply it under pressure after the program ends.
Most Luminate cohort-based leadership development programs run four to eight modules over six to twelve months. Practice and application happen between modules.
The spacing is intentional. Leadership capability develops through repeated cycles of learning, applying, receiving feedback, and reflecting, not through a single event. Luminate also offers shorter formats, including two-day team transformations and focused workshops.
Yes. Luminate works with leaders from the executive team to the frontline, including new managers and supervisors.
Frontline leaders shape the daily experience of more employees than almost anyone else in an organization. Content, language, and pacing are adapted to the audience, including plain-language design for operational teams and employees who use English as an additional language.
Depending on the engagement, Luminate uses SDI 2.0 and Core Strengths, Hogan, EQ-i 2.0 and EQ 360°, Leadership Circle Profile, CliftonStrengths, WE-I, and the interview-based Narrative 360°. Each instrument is delivered by a coach who is certified or qualified to use it.
Assessments are used to build self-awareness and shared language, not to label people. We move quickly from insight into practice. The tool is never the point. The point is what leaders do differently with the insight.
Team acceleration is focused leadership development and coaching for a real team. It can support an intact team, meaning a leader and their direct reports, or a project team assembled across functions to deliver a specific outcome.
The work strengthens trust, role clarity, accountability, productive conflict, and decision-making. It typically combines assessment, facilitated working sessions on the team’s real priorities, and follow-through coaching. The test of success is practical: the team operates its next quarter differently.
A team should invest in team acceleration when the cost of misalignment, slow decisions, avoided conflict, or unclear accountability is becoming visible.
Some teams have polite meetings but struggle to make decisions. Others debate intensely but still fail to land on a decision anyone owns. In both cases, the team is working around something instead of through it. Common triggers include a new leader, several new team members, restructuring, a merger of teams, visible silos, or strategic priorities that require faster and clearer decisions.
Luminate measures leadership development results by establishing a baseline and co-creating success measures linked to metrics the organization already tracks. We look at three levels of evidence:
This gives the organization evidence of what changed, what should be reinforced, and what should happen next.
Luminate delivers executive coaching, leadership development, and team acceleration both virtually and in person. We recommend the format that best fits the goal rather than defaulting to one delivery method.
Deep experiential work and team transformation often land best in person. Executive coaching, follow-through, and many workshops work well online. Most larger programs blend the two, and we travel to client sites across Canada and the United States.
Some leadership development programs may qualify for third-party training grants or employer training supports. Eligibility depends on the jurisdiction, timing, employer, and program design, and the rules can change.
We can help you explore possible funding during scoping, but the organization should confirm current eligibility before relying on a grant.
Start with a conversation. Every Luminate engagement begins with a discovery call focused on what your organization is experiencing, not a sales pitch.
From there, we may recommend a focused first step such as an executive coaching engagement, a team session, or a program design sprint. Scope, outcomes, timing, and investment are put in writing before the work begins. Book a conversation or email hello@luminate-leadership.com.
